Winter Graduate Recognition

Wednesday, December 9 at 11 a.m.
Chapel of Incarnation, Olson Campus Center
Join us for a service of Holy Communion during which we recognize and celebrate our winter graduates.

Service of Holy Communion and Chapel Café

First Wednesday of the Month
Alums are always invited to worship services on campus. We gather every Wednesday at 11 a.m. when class is in session for a service of Holy Communion. This year, on the first Wednesday of each month, we are especially encouraging alumni to attend Wednesday chapel so that you can connect with each other and with all of us here on campus. Chapel Café is what we do Wednesays after worship—sit together in the dining room and enjoy coffee, tea, and homemade baked goods.

Old Muskego Church and Rare Book Room

Accessing Old Muskego Church and the Rare Book Room of the library requires a special request to library staff. On the first Wednesday of the month, for about an hour after the chapel service, both the Rare Book Room and Old Muskego Church will be open. Staff and faculty will be on hand after chapel to connect with you and, if desired, to walk with you over to these parts of campus. If you are not able to come on a first Wednesday, you can reach out to Peter Watters (library@luthersem.edu) to plan a visit to the Rare Book Room and to Caleb Rollins (crollins002@luthersem.edu) to plan a visit to Old Muskego Church.

Lunch Church

Thursdays during Classes
Every Thursday when class is in session, we gather around a meal and a spiritual practice for fresh expressions of being the body of Christ. All are welcome to join us in the OCC dining room from 11-11:50 a.m. for this time together. There is no cost for the meal. Lunch Church happens every Thursday through and including December 17, with the exception of Thursday, November 26 (Thanksgiving break).

Accessing Campus Buildings

Hours to Visit – Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
When visiting campus, know that—to enhance security measures on campus—doors to all buildings are locked at all times. Campus visitors are encouraged to go to the east or west entrance (ground floor) of Olson Campus Center (the newest and northernmost of the four main buildings on upper campus; see below for map information). At those entrances, you can use the intercom to connect with a student worker at the Operations Desk. When requesting building access, you will need to provide your name, that you are an alum/visitor, and what spaces you would like to access. Student workers will do their best to accommodate your request to access other buildings but cannot leave the Operations Desk and are thus limited by what staff are available on that day.

Connecting with Faculty and Staff

Many of you are hoping to connect with faculty and staff. Here is the current faculty directory and a more general campus directory. To ensure the people you want to see are on campus when you visit, make sure you plan ahead and reach out to them.

What If I Can’t Come to Campus This Year?

  • Join us online for chapel — Wednesday services are livestreamed on YouTube.
  • Share memories with us. This year, we are asking alums to share favorite memories of your time as a student on the seminary’s campus. Share a photo related to these memories, if you’d like, by emailing us at communic@luthersem.edu.
  • Visit our new space. After the move next spring, we’ll still be Luther Seminary. And you will recognize many of the people and many of the physical objects of history, art, architecture, and worship that we are bringing with us. Come check it out!
  • Visit the library. We will maintain an excellent theological library that will be accessible to alums. Check out our new space in downtown Minneapolis, including our beautiful library space.
  • Keep in touch. Share any updated contact information with us using this online form so you can stay in the loop with all that’s going on at Luther.
