Devotion
In verses 4 and 5, David prayed: “Make me to know thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth and teach me, for thou art the God of my salvation; for thee I wait all the day long.”
The psalmist is clear about where to go to learn about salvation. We know also from St. Paul’s letters that God wants all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. God’s greatest gift to mankind is His promise of salvation through the work and person of Jesus Christ. How good it is to reflect on this gift each day and respond with joy and thanksgiving!
M. Scott Peck wrote a book entitled: What Return Can I Make? His own experience of salvation brought this question forward. Don’t we also need to deal with that same question?
Prayer
Lord, give me the faith to believe in your saving love. Amen.
