LBW #476, "Have No Fear, Little Flock"
Devotion
Early in my ministry I was asked to help introduce the Lutheran Book of Worship to congregations in the area of Montana where I served. "Have No Fear, Little Flock" was one of the first "new" hymns we learned.
What a wonderful song of grace! God is always the One who initiates our health and healing and gives us salvation through Jesus. God is the One who holds us close and honors us by being present in our actions of love to others.
Trust is not easy for me to learn. I am afraid often. I wish I was more consistent in my trusting. Even though I can attest to the wonderful leading and comfort of God’s Spirit in my life, fear still raises its head far too often. That’s why I need to sing the words of this great hymn again and again.
Prayer
Dearest Lord, continue to build my trust. I am far too weak. But the strength of your love is beyond my imagining. Thank You. Amen.
