LBW #39 "Joy to the World"
Devotion
My wife and I married fifty years ago today.
When the day came for the parsonage daughter and her fiancé to marry, thoughts of country congregation life came to mind. She reflected on times when the pastor couldn't fix everything, doctors couldn't heal, bankers couldn't lend any more, and good friends left town. And there were also thoughts of Christmas with live animals at the creche, singing with her brothers, special times with Mom and grandparents on Easter mornings, the first snow and blooming lilies.
So at her insistence, we sang at her wedding, "Joy to the world, the Lord is come!"
Fifty years?
... "and the wonders of his love."
Prayer
Father, let every heart prepare room for your son. Amen.
