Verse 12So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.
Verse 13Turn, O Lord! How long? Have compassion on your servants!
Verse 14Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Verse 15Make us glad as many days as you have afflicted us, and as many years as we have seen evil.
Verse 16Let your work be manifest to your servants, and your glorious power to their children.
Verse 17Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands- O prosper the work of our hands!
Devotion
Psalm 90, the only psalm attributed to Moses, compares the shortness of human life with the eternity of God.
Because of sin, we have become what humanity seems to be today: egocentric, mean and unconcerned about the needs of our neighbors. God offers God’s self to us in Word and in teaching through the covenantal relationship of unwavering love. In return, we are to obey and love God.
Through it all we learn that it is we who move, for God does not change. God will always be a living, loving, kind, gracious and forgiving God. And for that we say, "Thanks be to God!"
Prayer
Eternal God, in Jesus Christ your grace has come upon us. We pray for your guidance as we strive to live the life you have given us, and to live according to your will for us. Amen.
