“Come, Lord Jesus, be our guest ...” My family says this grace before meals in our home. Come, Lord Jesus! This prayer, this invitation, is a prayer not only for meals, but also for every moment of every day. Come, Lord Jesus! As this hymn affirms, Jesus comes that we might have hope in the midst of despair, faith in the midst of doubt, heaven brought near to earth. Jesus comes that we might have life. Come, Lord Jesus!

Come, Lord Jesus! Thank you for your gift of life, your hidden riches, the taste of your love. Help us to receive you always with joy. In your name we pray. Amen.
