Devotion
“Hosanna!” “Deliver us!” Imagine the throng shouting these words. Imagine people of all kinds, crowded together, straining to see, yelling. Not in unison, not on cue or even on pitch. People, lining the street, trying to out-shout those on either side, “Deliver us!” The coming of Jesus that day was the answer to their prayers. The promise of redemption was right there in their midst … and in ours.
Prayer
Ever-present God, you deliver me day after day. I give thanks for this promise as I prepare my heart for the coming week. Amen.
