Verse 1How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!
Verse 2It is like the precious oil on the head, running down upon the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down over the collar of his robes.
Verse 3It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord ordained his blessing, life forevermore.
Devotion
How common and unpleasant it is when disciples of our Lord divide and reflect disunity in the body of Christ!
Yesterday’s devotion, based upon this Sunday’s lesson from Acts 4, described the spiritual and material unity of the believers immediately after Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus Christ died and rose not just for our eternal salvation and our justification, but also for our temporal sanctification and our life together in the body of Christ.
Christ is risen! May our daily lives witness to the redeeming and transforming effects of God’s great act of deliverance in our lives through our labor for, love of and prayers for the unity of the body of Christ – the one, holy, Christian church. He is risen indeed!
Prayer
Oh, the transforming power of Your death and resurrection, dear Lord! Please, dear Jesus, use me to bring about a good and pleasant unity within my church locally and within your one, holy Church throughout the world. Amen.
