Read Ephesians 6:13-15 on biblegateway.com
Verse 13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Verse 14Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. Verse 15As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace.
Devotion
Our enemies do not seem to know that we are good, religious people. Days of evil come and we are not prepared! We are stunned and surprised by unrelenting hatred. Our leaders even seem seduced by the power that evil promises. How are we to stand and be protected?
God, for more than 3000 years you have promised a messiah. Is your messiah one to stand against Rome? We are afraid that your messiah may not be strong enough against the evil that is everywhere!
Prayer
God, send a savior: one who protects us; who is our armor; our firm ground; who is stronger than any evil; who is peace beyond all understanding. Amen.
