Devotion
The first time I visited the San Francisco Bay area, the hills made a huge impression on this native Minnesotan. Now I have a view of one of these hills out my dining room window. A while back I decided I would use the first two verses of Psalm 121 as my mealtime prayer and would look at “my” hill as I did so. Even when I’m not home, I see the hill in my mind’s eye as I pray before meals. I have no idea the age of this hill, but I know it’s been there a long time and will continue to be there. It is like our faithful God who provides for us, accompanies us, and who will remain with us through all our lives and welcome us into life eternal. Just as this hill has not been moved, neither will the Lord, who made heaven and earth, be moved from us.
Prayer
Ever-present God, you provide us with all we need. We thank you for your abundant generosity to us. Amen.
