A Christian scholar once wrote, “Every day is a day of baptismal conversion, of dying and rising again with Christ, of taking new steps toward becoming more fully what, by the grace of God, we truly are.”
The walk of discipleship is a walk that must be made daily; one step, one choice, one hour at a time. Some days, living out faith seems pretty easy; other days, it can seem nearly impossible. But the good news is that because we are joined to Jesus through baptism, this is not a walk we take alone.
One of my seminary professors used to remind himself every day in the shower that he was washed clean in God’s eyes through his baptism. The literal rinsing of the water helped him remember that he had a ‘fresh start’ to every day because of his new life in Christ.
May your day start fresh with the reminder of Jesus’ love for you!
