Devotion
Notice what happened at the end of the story: Jesus himself went to look for the man. God’s claim on us is just that firm. God not only waits for us, but in Jesus our God has come seeking us in all the sad and lonely places of our own lives. That is grace indeed. List some of the times and places in which God has found you.
Prayer
Gracious God, your love for us never fails. Help me see your presence in my life. Especially when I am disheartened or lost, restore me through your gracious and merciful presence. In Christ’s name I pray. Amen.
