Devotion
From Zion, the Mighty One, the Lord, has summoned his covenant people to a trial. This Mighty One is the judge, shining in a radiant light. The convening of this trial is seen through the eyes of faith.
The mightiness of God has appeared in other places as well, such as Sinai. He is the Lord, the One who comes to set things right.
The defendants in this trial are those “who made a covenant.” That covenant is confirmed by “sacrifice.” The witnesses for the trial come from heaven and earth.
The covenant is most critical, requiring that those making the covenant will be faithful to it. In fact, could it be the setting for a renewal of the covenant between God and God’s people?
God seeks a covenant relationship with us, renewed daily.
Prayer
Mighty One, I renew my covenant with you and pledge my life. Amen!
