I Love to Tell the Story, ELW 661
3 I love to tell the story, for those who know it best
seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest.
And when, in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song,
I'll sing the old, old story
That I have loved so long.
Refrain
Devotion
For those of us who attend worship services regularly at our church, there is a comfort and strength in the familiarity of the surroundings, the Gospel message, the prayers and the songs. We truly have fallen in love with our Lord and His people, despite the problems that sometimes trouble us.
Because we are very familiar with the Gospel, we eagerly look forward to the banquet prepared for us each week in Word and Sacrament. In Jesus' death and resurrection, we know the assurance that Jesus' love goes beyond the grave, and that helps us face each day with hope and grace. Jesus said: "Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit..." (John 15:5b) May you know the peace and power for daily living that comes through a familiarity with Jesus' love, forgiveness and the salvation offered in Him.
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, satisfy our deepest hunger with Your love and grace. Amen
