All Things Bright and Beautiful, WOV 767
Refrain
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.
1 Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, God made their glowing colors, God made their tiny wings.
Refrain
2 The purple headed mountains, the river running by, the sunset, and the morning that brightens up the sky.
Refrain
3 The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, the ripe fruits in the garden, God made them ev'ry one.
Refrain
4 God gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell how great is God Almighty, who has made all things well.
Devotion
Isn't it good to feel the warmth of the sun after a cold winter and a chilly spring? The sunshine makes everything better—physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. What a gift!
And that sunshine brings the growth of garden vegetables and fruits. Just imagine standing out in the rich, black dirt, picking those plump, sweet cherry tomatoes off the vine and popping them into your mouth—yummm.
Just imagine the warmth of the sun on your shoulders as you stand in God's creation—listening to the birds sing, tasting the fruit of the vine, digging in the dirt. God has given us these gifts of creation out of pure love for us. But these gifts are only the beginning. The greatest gift overshadows them all.
Just imagine the warmth of the Son on your shoulders as you stand at God's creation. Beloved child of God, you are the beautiful song, the sweet fruit of the vine, the good soil!
Prayer
Creator God, give us eyes to see and lips to tell how great you are, Almighty One. Amen.
