Devotion
The Moravian Church, a protestant church established by followers of the martyr John Huss in 1457, 50 years or so before Martin Luther, uses as its symbol the Lamb of God with a flag of victory. Around the lamb is this inscription: "Our Lamb has conquered; let us follow Him." A lamb is a gentle, humble mascot for a church. But gentle and humble doesn't mean powerless. Jesus is the Passover lamb. Jesus is the sacrificial lamb. He is the lamb that was slain. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, conquered through the cross so that all who believe might have abundant life. This is the One we follow. It is around the Victorious Lamb that all the angels and every creature in heaven and earth sing in full voice. This Victorious Lamb unites all creatures in singing honor, blessing, glory and praise forever and ever. This is the one we worship. As disciples, "let us follow Him."
Prayer
Lord God, united with all your creation, we do praise and worship you. We ask for help to be your disciples and faithfully follow you even though we do not know where you are leading. In Jesus' name, amen.
