Devotion
From where does my help come? This is a question that at some point we all probably find ourselves asking. Today my family made our first outing on our family trip to Rome; help came there in the form of a wonderful Italian grandmother who helped us get on the correct train to buy our Roma Passes. I've been with parishioners in the hospital for whom help has come in the form of a loving spouse, a kind nurse or a knowledgeable surgeon. On a recent mission trip with our youth help came from a dozen different people who guided and helped us find our way and worked alongside us as our neighbors. In my experience, God provides us with the help we seek in and through the love and care of our neighbors each and every day. What a gift it is for us that God comes to work through us so that we are able to share Christ with each other as helping hands!
Prayer
God of the ordinary and the extraordinary, guide our living and loving that we might reflect your love in the care of our neighbor. Amen.
