Over the next few weeks, we’ll be in the Easter season, celebrating the joy of Christ’s resurrection. May the grace, peace, and hope of Jesus be with you.
Of course, that’s easier said than done. Our society is in the midst of a particularly polarized period, punctuated by hostility and anger. There is war and violence around the globe. The pandemic continues to linger, even as (gratefully!) hospitalizations remain low. Yet Christ’s promise of mercy remains for us always, for he descended into the worst of human pain and suffering and defeated it when he rose on the third day.
My prayer is that as we continue to work through the very real issues confronting us, we will never lose sight of this promise: Christ died, and Christ lives, forming us as one body through the cross.
May this be the heart of your celebration now and always.
Peace and grace,
